3 Tips for Comparing Moving Quotes
Are you comparing Apples to Apples?
We understand that comparing moving quotes from different movers can sometimes be overwhelming so we wanted to give some tips on how assist during this point of the process.
1 . Make Sure You are Comparing "Apples to Apples"
Not all companies use the same method for putting together an estimate. Which can make it very confusing when trying to compare the estimates you receive. Different ways companies can charge you is by the hour, by weight, or by cubic feet.
2 . Make Sure You Receive Your Estimate in Writing
It is ok to get information and quotes over the phone as long as it's followed up with an email of the Estimate.
3 . Make Sure that Each Estimate consists of All the Details of Your Move including The items You Are Moving
It is very easy to look at only the prices at the bottom of the estimates and base it on that alone, but BE CAREFUL. Anything that is being put on the truck should be on the estimate in your detailed inventory, along with packing of boxes, stairs etc. If it is not listed on your estimate then it is not accounted for in the price and there is a very good chance that price will go up when the movers arrive to load. So make sure EVERYTHING is listed on the estimates or quotes your receive and comparing.
These are just some tips to help you through this stage of the process of finding the right service.
